Our ambition to accelerate growth drives us to seek a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our North American sales subsidiary, comprising a committed team of approximately 12 employees. This role will oversee all business operations, drive sales growth, and ensure the successful promotion and distribution of our irrigation technology products across the U.S. and Canada. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales management, a solid understanding of the agricultural sector, and a passion for promoting sustainable water use in farming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development: Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, build strong relationships with key OEMs, dealers, and users, especially growers. Develop and expand market presence within the North American agricultural sector and adjacent businesses.
  • Leadership & Management: Provide strategic leadership to the North American team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with the company’s global goals and values.
  • Professional Steering: Ensure and further develop the use of state-of-the-art CRM Software to further professionalize our sales approach.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations including our local warehouse, ensuring smooth functioning of all business activities, including sales, marketing, technical support and logistics.
  • Financial Management: Manage the subsidiary’s budget, financial performance, and P&L, ensuring profitability while adhering to cost controls and efficiency measures.
  • Market Analysis & Strategy: Continuously analyse the North American irrigation and agricultural market and important adjacent market trends, as well as competitors and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a highly skilled team, fostering collaboration and ensuring clear communication across all functions.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with local regulations and maintain clear and transparent reporting to the European headquarters.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or general management in a B2B/ B2B2B environment, preferably in the agricultural or an adjacent sector.
  • Proven track record in leading teams and managing operations in a sales-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and P&L statements.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for sustainability and water conservation in agriculture.
  • Good understanding of the U.S. and Canadian agricultural market.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally as required.
